What does this mean for me?
If you're a home user, you'll need to run Windows Update to make sure you've got Internet Explorer 11, likewise, if you work for or run a business you'll need to speak to your techy people to make sure they know what support is coming to an end.
What happens if I don't upgrade to the latest version?
Future bugs or security exploits will not be patches or fixed by Microsoft, so you and your data can become vulnerable, potentially opening your computer up to viruses and spyware. You'll also likely not be able to take full advantage of the Internet, recent improvements in website development mean that older browser versions don't and can't support the new features that we're beginning to know and love.
In summary
Make sure you've upgraded to Internet Explorer 11 before January 12th 2016 to make sure that you're safe on the web and able to take advantage of the latest technologies.
